GL Danksagungsrede, nachdem er den Award für "Best Picture" entgegengenommen hatte:
"Danke. Danke euch allen. Dies ist eine sehr, sehr wichtige Auszeichnung für mich. Star Wars, so seltsam es auch ist, bekommt nicht wirklich viele Auszeichnungen. Ich bin kein großer Favorit der Kritiker, aber wer hört schon auf die? Ich bin auch kein großer Liebling der Industrie, aber natürlich sind sie ein Haufen Studiobosse. Die wichtigsten Leute für jeden Filmemacher, der Grund, warum ich Filme mache, seid ihr! Die Zuschauer rulen! Danke. Danke vielmals!"

Daneben gab die Academy die Filme bekannt, die für Make Up und Sound in die engere Aswahl der Oscar Nominierungen kommen...die Auswahl für die Special effects wurde schon im Dezember gefällt.

Das SW in die engere Auswahl bei der Academy kommt, is ja schon fast als Wunder anzusehen...auch wenn GLs Rede beim People Choice Award net von Optimismus bezüglich der Oscar Gewinne für RotS ist...allein die Nominierungen für SW sind schon fast wie ein Oscar...denn bekanntlich ist GL und SW net sonderlich beliebt bei der Academy
