Der Englisch "Üben" - Thread

I've grown quite fluent in English, so my English has become just as awful as my German. I mean in German I mix up several Dialekts and colloquial language so it's not very "pure" anymore. The same happened to my English. I sound pretty much BE but mix some different AE Accents into it. I use many AE words and phrases.

With reading books... Well, it's not as if I had a choice. They are not being translatet American to British... If the Author is American the book will be American. Simple enough.
 
Oh ... I've read several books in English, starting with some Star Wars books (I just didn't want to wait until they were published in Poland or Germany) some books by David and Leigh Eddings - I've been in England for one term and stayed at a boardings school, and that was sooooooo booring, I'ver read 9 or 10 books during this time - and the last book I've read in English was the Lord of the Rings. Gosh that did take a loat of time and many looking up in the dictionary ... But hey, it's worth it. I somehow like to read a book or look a film in its original language - as long as I understand this language :D I would not come up with the idea of reading or watching "With Fire and Sword" in any other language than Polish *gg*

I would like to learn the british pronounciation but somehow I didn't pick it up while I've been in Devon :( Think I have to practice it ... Somewhere .... Hm ... Shell I watch BBC ?
 
BBC would certainly help you.
But to practice pronunciation you should talk.
Maybe you can grab some friends an talk English to them and with them. Just for fun. You'll see your English will become more fluent.
 
Hi kann mir jemand helfen. Ich brauche hilfe in Simple past und Präsens und futur.

Kann mir jemand sagen wie man diese drei Zeitformen bildet?
 
Wofür brauchst du das denn? Du kannst aber shcon n bissl englisch, oder? sonst bringt das ganze da unten nix... ;)

simple past (etwas das in der vergangenheit geschah und abgeschlossen wurde) mit der zweiten Verbform, z.B. "He was a good teacher"

Präsens mit der ersten Form (es ist momentan so), also "He is a good teacher"

Future gibts 2 die häufig benutzt werden. das going-to und das will... Entweder "Everything will be okay" (also mit will + infinitiv des Verbs, bei Vorhersagen oder spontanen entscheidungen) oder " We're going to play basketball" (going to+inf., bei einer Absicht).

Hat dir das jetzt geholfen oder hab ich zu viel geschwafelt? :D

Simple Past ist erste Vergangenheit.
He went to the doctor. I ate scrambled eggs for breakfast. She looked gorgeous.

Future ist erste Zukunft.
She will do her homework on time. I'm going to be late. He will have to listen to me.

Ok dazu habe ich noch eine Frage.

Warum bleiben manche Verben normal. z.b. so: like, hungry
Aber warum sind einige Verben verändert worden wie: watching, walking, looks,smells

Ich she das da einmal das ing angehangen wurde und manchmal ein s. Warum?

Okay... ich rezitiere aus meiner Erninnerung, jedoch müsste es so richtig sein...

1)Die -ing Endung wird benutzt, wenn grade im Moment etwas getan wird.

I'm eating. I'm watching TV. I'm singing a song. It's raining.

2)Drückst du einen Zustand aus (auch Gefühle) der nicht konkret ist wird kein -ing angehängt.

I like potatoes. I hate french. I am a nice guy. I'm always hungry.

3)Das mit dem -s hat lediglich was mit der Konjugation des Verbes zu tun. 3. Pers. Sing. hat zum Beispiel eine -s endung.

He looks, She goes, He drinks, He invites...

Bedenke allerdings das das Anhängsel -s nur für regelmäßige Verben gilt.

So z.B. He likes potatoes!

Das Verb to be ist allerdings unregelmäßig, folglich heißt es

He is eating, He is always hungry!

Ich habe alles soweit verstanden bis auf das mit dem s ranhängen mit den Konjugation des Verbes.


Ok hier ein parr beispiele und ihr sagt mir ob es richtig ist:

I hate maths. I like Star Wars


I playing computer games. He reading a book.


Ist das so richtig?
 
Hä? Aber I'm heißt doch ich bin.
und is= ist

das passt doch nicht in den Satz.
Das heißt ja dann :
Er ist lesen ein Buch
und

Ich bin spielen ein Computer-spiel


Oder versteh ich da was falsch?
 
I`m playing a computergame heisst übersetzt : Ich spiele ein Computerspiel

He is reading a book heisst : Er liesst (gerade) ein Buch.



He is heisst zwar auch Er ist, und I am heisst auch ich bin, aber du musst den ganzen Satz sehen.
Dadurch kommt es zu einem anderen Zusammenhang.;)
 
well, me, I'm admi on an english board, so you can tell I have a lil practise, not only in school-english, meaning Oxford-English but a lil slang here and a lil there *G*. If anyone of you has a question, I'll be glad to help :). Also, I write all my fanfics (some Star Wars too ;)) in German but translate them to English and sometimes even the other way round... They can be found on ff.net, on my homepage (signature) as well as on adultfanfiction.net. Just in case anyone's interested ;).
 
Das mit dem I am playing könnte man wörtlich zur Verdeutlichung übersetzen mit: Ich bin spielend.

Es gibt im deutschen keinen Unterschied, ob man allgemein etwas tut (im Gegensatz zu nicht tun) oder ob man es jetzt in diesem Moment tut.

Wenn ich sage: ich spiele Tetris weiß man nicht, ob ich einfach Tetrisspieler bin, oder jetz grad am daddeln.

Im Englischen gibt es diesen Unterschied:
She plays tetris. <-> She is playing tetris.

Ok ich brauche mal eure Hilfe. Ich habe was in Englisch auf. Zu dem Text den ich gleich abschreibe. Dazu sollen wir die Antwort schreiben. Die habe ich auch schon, nur ob das alles so richtig ist bezweifle ich, also ich poste mal alles rein.

Ok das habe ich selber dazu geschrieben? Ist das so gut? Oder nicht? Bitte verbessert dies oder meint ihr ich sollte da lieber was anderes schreiben? Sagt mir eure Vorschläge. Ich brauch es zu Montag. Es wäre also gut wenn ihr es bis Sonntag gepostet habt. Es wird nämlich leider benotet. Und ich muss meine zensur retten und alleine schaffe ich das nicht, weil meine Eltern und meine Freunde kein Englisch können. (schlecht können) Also ich will euch hier nicht ausnutzen. Nicht das ihr das hier falsch versteht.

@Kestrel: Ich schnau in diesem Thread eher selten rein. Für eine adäquate Formulierung müsste ich wissen, wie lange du schon Englisch lernst.

Wie wäre es mit diesem Einstieg:
I can understand your situation, but you really should talk to your parents, even if it seems to be difficult for you. If it is easier for you, it would be a good start to talk with friends or other relatives first...

Für die grammatikalische Richtigkeit kann ich keine Gewähr übernehmen, da ich schon 10 Jahre aus der Scule raus bin.

nicht nur daß der Rat an sich poodoo ist ("such dir doch einfach nen neuen Freund... wirst schon drüber wegkommen, Scheißerle!" :angry )... da is jeder Satz total banane :alien
also (abgesehen daß ich nicht mit der Grundaussage übereinstimme -.-):

bei solchen Sätzen habe ich nur einen Tipp... weniger Star Wars schauen... Yoda ist schlecht für dich :alien :D
